My Role

Devsinc builds web and mobile products for clients in the US and around the world. As a Software Engineer, I worked on Authorea, an online platform where researchers write, collaborate on and publish papers, with more than 89,000 articles. I built full-stack features with React on the front end, including an article recommendation feature, and worked directly with the US client team.

I also looked after the platform’s AWS infrastructure: EC2, S3, RDS and Elastic Beanstalk. I set up a staging environment so changes could be tested safely before release, and cut downtime by moving the database from a self-managed server to Amazon RDS. I ran AWS training sessions for the rest of the team.

It’s where I learned to ship software in a professional team: code reviews, staged releases and keeping a live platform reliable for its users.
